But either way there is nothing the user can do, it is between MS and their vendors. luckily this error has not caused any problems as of yet so I'd rather not mess around updating firmware that may not even need it. Event Id 13 Hal I only found this error because my system crashed so I was browsing through events searching for the one that caused my crash but this wasn't it.

Summary:The HAL error/warning although irksome, is harmless in Windows 7 & earlier. Event Id 12 Kernel General You can cause more problems than your trying to fix unless of course you really know what you're doing. I guess it will be up to Gigabyte to resolve it at some point.http://download.microsoft.com/download/7/E/7/7E7662CF-CBEA-470B-A97E-CE7CE0D98DC2/mem-corrupt.docx Edited by Lead3 Monday, August 17, 2009 7:43 PM Proposed as answer by Mark M[MSFT] Tuesday, August http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/4721-63-gigabyte-firmware-corrupted-memory Wednesday, August 19, 2009 1:02 AM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote I've the same issue with a Gigabyte P35-DS3R flashed with the last stable BIOS and Windows 7 RTM Event Id 12 Hal I finally found a Microsoft paper that dicusses the issue. It turns out it really is not a problem, just an issue between MS and hardware vendors. check over here Having tested many hardware and software scenarios in search of the culprit, Ifound that it truly is a harmless situation for the current versions of Windows(currently Windows 7) but if MS I guess it will be up to Gigabyte to resolve it at some point.http://download.microsoft.com/download/7/E/7/7E7662CF-CBEA-470B-A97E-CE7CE0D98DC2/mem-corrupt.docx Edited by Lead3 Monday, August 17, 2009 7:43 PM Proposed as answer by Mark M[MSFT] Tuesday, August Because all recurring errors and warnings bug me I analyzed this to the extreme and found it to be virtually impossible to find out what firmware was using this section of Event Id 12 Plugplaymanager

There really is no conflict or error and can be considered harmless and ignored.* *Saying an error is harmless and can be ignored is hard for me to do since It's been 6 years since your problem was published here and Gigabyte still has not resolved it so I guess we will have to put up with it. It turns out that the HAL 12 error/warning stems from what Windows considers 'memory corruption' in the lowest 1 MB of the physical memory (see http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/system/platform/firmware/mem-corrupt.mspx).Even though vendors are probably using his comment is here Good luck!
